Habitat for Humanity International (HFHI) is a world wide Christian ministry that serves everyone. Our mission is to build simple, decent, affordable houses for God’s people in need. Our goal is to eliminate poverty housing from the face of the earth. Founded in 1976, HFHI has built over 300,000 houses around the world, providing more than 1.5 million people in 3,000 communities with safe, decent, affordable shelter. To accomplish these goals, we invite people of all backgrounds, races and religions to build houses together in partnership with families in need.

Hardin County Habitat for Humanity (HCHFH) is your local affiliate of HFHI. We have the same mission, but our goal is to eliminate poverty housing in Hardin County. HCHFH was founded in 1992 as a ministry of the Hardin County Ministerial Association. We attempt to build 4 houses each year. Why so few? It is only money and volunteers that hold us back. The need is great. We estimate there are over 1000 families in the County that could qualify for a home. Our task is huge. We need your help.

Habitat for Humanity does not give away houses. Our partner families buy their houses with a 25-year interest free mortgage and all of the issues that accompany a mortgage, except interest.
